Biography
Victoria Korkishko was born and grew up in the Crimea, in Simferopol. The Crimean peninsula is a very picturesque area with rich and interesting history. The Crimea is inhabited by people of many nationalities. Their history is rich and varied. Their traditions are interesting and original. She spent her childhood in this wonderful and beautiful place so all these factors influenced the development of the personality of this young talented artist.
Victoria showed interest to drawing in early childhood. She wanted to be a painter and chose her future profession rather early. First this little gifted girl studied at Simferopol Art school and graduated it in 1996. Her years of study were full of creative activity and hard work. Later she continued her study and entered the Crimean Art College named after N.S. Samokish (faculty of painting). She was a hard-working and capable student. The best teachers of the College such as T. V. Goloborod’ko, a Member of the Union of artists of Ukraine, L. V. Balkind, Honored worker of arts of Ukraine, L. V. Polyakova, Honored artist of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, shared their experience with her.
Victoria continued her education at Kharkov State Academy of design and arts. Her specialization is a painter-restorer of easel and monumental painting. She also received additional knowledge in the faculty of Fine arts (specialization: painter, painter -restorer, teacher of painting).
Victoria constantly improves her professional skills, continues her training, reads a lot, travels a lot.
She tried many professions. At first she worked as a researcher, as a painter-restorer in Simferopol’s museums. Now she is a lecturer of painting and special courses in Simferopol Art School for children and at the Tavrichesky College.
As a real teacher she generously passes on her skills and different secrets to her pupils.
Besides, she doesn’t stop to draw pictures. Many pictures were created by this young talented master.
Viktoriya Korkishko works in the technique of oil painting, watercolor, in the genres of landscape, marina, still life, portrait.
There were 5 personal exhibitions: in Nikolaev (2010), in Simferopol (2010; 2011), in Yalta (2015).
Many Victoria’s works are in museums: Poltava Art Museum (art gallery) named after N. Yaroshenko, Nikolaev Museum of shipbuilding and fleet, Simferopol historical Museum, Bakhchisarai historical-cultural and archaeological Museum-reserve.
Some works of Victoria are in private collections.
Since 2000 Victoria takes part in various exhibitions. She presents her pictures made in different genres, styles and techniques.
In 2016 she became a member of All-Russian creative public organization “Union of artists of Russia” (the Crimean Republican branch). Besides, she is a member of the International Association of Fine Arts – AIAP UNECKO.
